We need to learn to be like a little child before Him and learn once again that God is SO good.
The Attributes of God
- God is eternal. It is important to understand that time, beginnings, and endings do not apply to God; He created these concepts and exists in a “love-dimension” where space and time are mere subsets.
- With this understanding, it is safe to anchor yourself in an unchangeable God. You can rely on God’s immutability for stability, because He does not change, His creation has laws, and His promises are guaranteed.
- God is unique; embrace it. Acknowledge there is only one true, self-existent God, who is not to be confused with the multitude of created beings mistakenly worshiped as deities.
- God is a Spirit, so worship Him as such. Move beyond physical locations and outward forms of worship to offer continuous, heartfelt praise from your spirit, as God is immaterial and beyond His creation.
- God is absolutely good. He is the personification of love, mercy, and grace; therefore, His every thought and plan for you is inherently good.

Eons ago, in a small part of the Milky Way galaxy, a rebellion of God’s creation took place, involving the planet Earth… To draw this portion of the galaxy with His great love, the unique God the Word manifestation in our section of the galaxy chose to manifest Himself in a body of human flesh, whom we have come to know as the Lord Jesus Christ.
Understanding the Trinity
- The Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed were formulated to defend biblical truth against early heresies like Marcionism and Arianism.
- The two modern Pentecostal views: The Trinitarian view (God is three Persons, one God) versus the Oneness view (God is three manifestations, one Person), noting that both can become extreme when pushed to their logical conclusions.
- The classic illustrations like water (solid, liquid, gas) or a man with three roles (engineer, husband, father) only capture about 20% accuracy in representing the Trinity.
- Envision God existing in three dimensions—the God-dimension (Father), the energy-space-time continuum (Holy Spirit), and the visible manifestation to creation (the Word/Jesus)—all as one God-Person existing simultaneously.
- See Jesus as the unique, visible manifestation of God the Word in our section of the galaxy, who opened the way for us to behold the glory of the Father.

The essence of justification by faith is that God does not just want a legal relationship with us, but He wants a loving relationship with us. A marriage has a legal basis and framework, but it cannot exist without love. Take love out of a marriage, and it becomes a bondage.
The Major Doctrines of Christianity
- Justification by faith is to be seen as a love relationship, not just a legal transaction. God gives us peace, His love, grace, righteousness, eternal life, and union with Christ’s victory—all imparted as His life flowing into us, not merely as a positional change.
- Understand that the gift of righteousness comes with the gift of Jesus’ own faith working in you; your only part is to yield yourself as an instrument of righteousness.
- Sanctification is a three-stage process. You have been sanctified in your spirit (new birth), you are being sanctified in your soul (renewal of mind), and you will be sanctified in your body (future resurrection).
- The call for Christian perfection is the perfection of love. True perfection is not about avoiding wrong actions but about being saturated with God’s love, for a loving spirit fulfills all commandments and is the true measure of Christian maturity.
- Predestination and free will can be seen in two areas and two levels. Distinguish between predestination of events (which cannot be stopped) and predestination of people (which operates at Level One—general working for all, and Level Two—special working for those who consistently make the right choices).
The goal of God is that we grow to be like Him. To do so, we must be permitted to experience the uncertainties and difficulties present in an imperfect, sinful world to develop and grow our character.
Understanding the Existence of Evil
- Evil is the absence of light, not something God created. It accumulates from wrong choices made since creation; God does not have to create evil any more than light has to create darkness—darkness is simply the absence of light.
- Trials are character-building opportunities, not divine cruelty. God allows challenges so we can grow in love for truth, faith, hope, loyalty, and courage—qualities that cannot be developed in a sin-free, police-state environment.
- There is a difference between God’s active will and His permissive will. Many Old Testament passages describing God doing something are actually God allowing it to happen (e.g., 2 Samuel 24:1 vs. 1 Chronicles 21:1; God permitted Satan to move against David).
- Understand the speed of sin versus the speed of righteousness. Sin affects three to four generations downstream, but righteousness affects a thousand generations—meaning the blessings of right choices travel faster and farther than the consequences of wrong choices.
- Embrace the unstoppable force of Grace. Through Christ’s death, the gift of righteousness has completely vanquished death and evil; where sin abounded, grace abounds much more, enabling us to reign in life.
Now that you’ve explored these foundational truths, don’t just store them as knowledge. Let them draw you deeper. Take time this week to sit with God, ask Him to reveal His love, and simply rest in who He is.
Finally, here is a question we’d love you to answer.
Do you see your relationship with God as a legal transaction or a love relationship—and how does that shape your daily walk with Him?
