How To Get Started: The Holy Spirit & You

Everyone needs help. God who made man identified this need in Gen 2:18. This happened even before Man fell.

But beyond the need of another mortal man, Man had help from the inside. That was what man actually lost in Gen 3:10. That brought every devastation we see today.

The Help Man had inside is called the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit & You by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Follow me as I review the book “The Holy Spirit & You” by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Well, as I’ll always tell you–I aim to show you what I learned in this book, so you desire to know more yourself by reading it.

The Hebrew meaning for the word Jesus called the Holy Spirit is “Paraklet”. It means a comforter.

The Amplified version of the Bible breaks it down to mean. Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.

I tell you if you don’t know what these mean–then you probably don’t know what you are capable of with His help.

A counselor will guide you, a helper will help you. And the Holy Spirit helps in all–I mean all things.

An Intercessor helps plead your case, while an advocate will defend you.

As a Strengthener, He’ll strengthen you. I sure am one that needs a lot of strengthening–am so sure you can do better with strength from a God.

When you are at your wits’ end. He is available as a standby.

The Holy Spirit is not human. So he needs a body to work through–and that’s you.

So much the Holy Spirit can do. But none will happen without your active involvement.

Yes, He is in you, but your understanding and acknowledging Him as help in these areas–brings His manifestations in your life.

The best way to take advantage of His ministry in your life is to function in the kingdom of God.

How To Get Started :The Holy Spirit & You

You can’t function in a place you know nothing about. A kingdom is opposite to what most of us think it is.

Very soon I’ll be reviewing a book on the kingdom of God. But just to give you a tip of the iceberg.

A kingdom is a government under a king (not a president, or prime minister), whose influence is seen over a particular territory and his subjects.

For short, the kingdom of God is the practical spiritual influence of God (His nature, principles, and laws). Finding expression in the life of a man.

Having said that; you can open doors to your life with the combination of the Holy Spirit & The Word.

The most dangerous person is the one who has the Holy Spirit & The Word. Such with his mouth anything is possible.

You can re-create your life. Our author puts it this way, “If you speak ordinary words, you’ll best live an ordinary life.”

Make it a strong habit to speak God’s word in creating a life you desire.

If you have the Holy Spirit’s fullness in you. I mean if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then you are Anointed.

To be anointed means to be smeared with oil as to become one. In 1 Cor 6:17 it says he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

Everything you do is anointed, the anointing rubs off on whatsoever you do. That’s how you become blessed.

So, live in that consciousness. Apply this understanding in all you do. Say it, talk it, think about it and live it.

When you give, send it forth by the anointing. Use it for your health, career, finances, studies, marriage, children, etc.

Fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit brings you into His ministry.

But that’s not all. If you must receive His ministry then you must make it a habit to minister to Him.

Fellowship is a process of coming into the knowledge of, and intimacy with another.

It takes time. You’ll learn to talk to Him, pleasure Him (in worship, praise, word study), respond to His bidings, walk with Him, etc.

The best part is, He reciprocates even more then you can ever imagine. Proverbs 8:16 puts it this way, “I love those that love me; and those who seek me early shall find me.”

God’s love for man is constant. It is Man that varies. The closer you get, the more you receive of His love.

For a close, the Holy Spirit in You and the Holy Spirit with you aren’t the same things.

They both have the Spirit, but with different relationships.

A song I love has these lyrics, “when you hold my hands, everything becomes possible“.

Now tell me. What, aspect of your relationship with the Holy Spirit will you love to work on?

Or what would you do now to turn the Holy Spirit in You from passive to active?

Tell me about it. But first, download a copy for yourself and enjoy your read.

You can download this book here.

God bless you.
