Encoding the Imagination

● Jesus used the Greek word “dianoia” for “mind,” which specifically refers to the imagination part of our mind.

● The Greek word “dialogismos” refers to analytical reasoning, while “dianoia” refers to the picture-thinking, visionary part of the mind.

● The Hebrew word “yetzer” (translated as imagination, intent, frame, or mold) refers to something solid and formed, like a blueprint or mold.

● God Himself has an imagination and formed the entire creation in His mind before speaking it into existence.

● The Spirit of God hovered over the waters like a brooding hen, forming the image of creation before words were spoken.

● Every seed contains an encoded blueprint—just like a plant’s DNA determines its future, your imagination contains the seed of your future.

● God writes His laws not just in our analytical mind but in our dianoia—our imagination.

● Hebrews 4:12 shows that the Word of God divides soul and spirit and discerns the thoughts and intents (imagination) of the heart.

● The word “intent” comes from the root “noia,” connecting it directly to the imagination part of our mind.

● The word of God must come into our imagination, not just our analytical reasoning.

● God sees the full potential in the seed of your future, while we only see what is visible and immediate.

● Many believers despise their imagination, treating it as daydreaming or distracting thoughts, but it holds the seed of their destiny.

● To change a person, God must first change their imagination because that is where future formation begins.

● Your imagination must be specific and clear, not general or fuzzy, to effectively receive God’s blueprint.

● The Spirit of God helps us through visions, dreams, and prophecy to encode God’s purposes into our imagination.

Practical Aspects of Visualizing

● Visualizing is one of the mechanics of faith, along with confession, meditation, and prayer.

● The mechanics of faith will not work if you are outside the will of God for your life.

● You must first discover God’s will through surrender, consecration, and saying “Not my will but Yours be done.”

● A person can be called to a ministry but fail because they never learned the mechanics of faith like visualization and meditation.

● Applying the mechanics of faith for selfish or sinful purposes contradicts God’s Word and will not succeed.

● The Holy Spirit communicates to us through the written Word, spoken Word, and images or visions.

● Words form pictures in our minds—if I say “black dog,” you immediately see an image in your imagination.

● God has a completed plan for your life from birth to death, and He reveals it progressively through prophecy, inner voice, Scripture reading, and fellowship.

● Unless you change your vision, you will not change your life.

● If you have an image of failure, you will produce failure; if you have an image of success, you will produce success.

● Faith is the substance of things hoped for—it sees things already done in the spiritual realm and holds that vision until it materializes physically.

● The things seen in the physical world are made from things that are not seen in the spiritual world.

● Paul was a visualizer who looked at things not seen, recognizing that physical things are temporary but spiritual things are eternal.
